The partnership marks DoorDash’s entry into the home improvement category as the company grows its roster of retailers.
With its Lowe’s partnership, DoorDash continues to expand its reach. This year, the company has added Pet Supplies Plus, The Vitamin Shoppe, Sally Beauty and MAC Cosmetics to its growing roster of retailers.
“As Lowe’s continues its omnichannel journey, expanding same-day delivery options helps us meet our customers where they are,” Neelima Sharma, senior vice president of digital commerce and technology at Lowe’s, said. “Our collaboration with DoorDash unlocks an opportunity for us to reach new DIY customers who are shopping directly on the DoorDash app, helping them get everything they need for spring.”
Lowe’s is tapping into DoorDash’s delivery network as it experiences sales declines. In its Q4 earnings report, the company reported a 17% drop year over year in net sales to $18.6 billion from $22.4 billion. Overall, its 2023 net sales fell by 11% to $86.4 billion compared to $97.1 billion in the year-ago period.
