Progress debuts Sitefinity’s agentic RAG CMS, transforming static sites into real-time, hyper-personalized, AI-verified digital experiences powered by trusted content.
Progress Software, a provider of digital experience and infrastructure software, announced on Thursday the early access availability of its new feature, Agentic RAG for Sitefinity. The technology is designed to enable companies to deliver dynamically generated, personalized web experiences based on a site visitor’s natural language prompt.
The feature integrates Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)—an artificial intelligence method that allows AI models to draw answers from a verified knowledge base—with real-time content assembly within the company’s Sitefinity content management platform.
Addressing Content Bottlenecks
The innovation aims to address a challenge faced by many large organizations: unlocking valuable, proprietary information scattered across internal documents, databases, and various systems. Traditional websites often fail to meet user expectations for direct, verified answers tailored to their specific, current needs.
Progress Agentic RAG for Sitefinity aims to deliver contextual experiences that adapt to an individual user’s intent during a digital journey. It retrieves information from approved, secure enterprise content, interprets the user’s prompt, and assembles a relevant web experience, complete with source traceability and brand governance controls.
The company claims that this approach creates a unified, AI-driven system that replaces static web pages and manual rules with trustworthy, intelligent experiences built from the organization’s own content.
“AI has fundamentally changed the way people access information. As a result, traditional websites with pre-structured content will soon be obsolete,” said Loren Jarrett, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Digital Experience at Progress Software. “Organizations need to provide a modern, prompt-driven, totally dynamic information experience for their website visitors, and Progress Agentic RAG for Sitefinity makes this a reality.”

The technology also supports what the company calls Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), a strategy designed to maximize content visibility within large language models (LLMs).
Rick van Emmerik, Chief Marketing Officer at Tangerine Telecom, an early user of the technology, noted, “This innovation gives organizations like ours a distinct advantage: the ability to deepen engagement, personalize at scale, and stand apart in a crowded digital space.”
