Today’s SurveyMonkey adds AI-assisted survey building, automated analysis, and new HRIS integrations, as most businesses still under-collect feedback.
SurveyMonkey on Sept. 1 introduced Today’s SurveyMonkey, a redesigned version of its platform aimed at helping scaling organizations turn continuous human feedback into faster business decisions.
The company said the update responds to a growing risk: as businesses increasingly turn to AI for fast answers, they risk making consequential decisions without hearing from the people those decisions actually affect. New SurveyMonkey research found that while 83% of business owners say customer feedback is useful in driving business decisions, only 54% collect it more than once or twice a year — a 29-point gap the company attributes primarily to a lack of time and process.
“Good decisions start with understanding what real people actually think, and that hasn’t changed,” said Eric Johnson, SurveyMonkey’s CEO. “AI is changing how work gets done, but businesses shouldn’t have to choose between moving fast and understanding the people they serve. The best decisions come from built-in listening. Today’s SurveyMonkey shows what AI looks like when it’s designed to keep real human feedback at the center, remove busywork, and help every team make confident decisions.”

AI That Works Where Teams Already Do
The redesigned platform opens with a personalized starting point based on a team’s goals and past work, rather than a blank page. A new conversational AI survey-building experience lets users describe what they want in plain language, while the platform adjusts questions, applies logic and refines surveys in real time. Once responses come in, SurveyMonkey’s AI automatically analyzes results and surfaces key findings with plain-language explanations.
The company is also extending its AI integrations. Existing connections with Claude and ChatGPT let teams build surveys, analyze responses and access feedback data without leaving those AI tools, and SurveyMonkey said a Gemini connector is coming soon, extending the same functionality into Google’s Gemini Enterprise chat interface.
New HR Integrations
As part of the update, SurveyMonkey is adding a human resources information system integration connecting the platform with Workday or BambooHR. HR teams will be able to build survey audiences from real-time employee data, automatically enrich responses with attributes such as department, location and tenure, and analyze results in organizational context without manually merging data for each survey.
A New Benchmarks Tool
SurveyMonkey also plans to roll out an overhauled Benchmarks feature before the end of the year, which will compare a company’s results against similar organizations using more than 27 years of the company’s feedback data — intended to help growing companies without dedicated research teams understand how metrics such as Net Promoter Score or organizational health scores compare within their industry.
A Redesigned Interface
The update also includes a visual redesign, with a simplified navigation structure and a personalized home screen offering recommendations based on a team’s goals and existing work.

Early Use Case
SurveyMonkey pointed to Noom, the behavior-change platform, as an early example of the approach in practice. While developing Mindful Art Break, a feature aimed at improving users’ emotional well-being through guided art exercises, Noom used SurveyMonkey to scale feedback collection from 100-person pilot tests to a 5,000-person study within eight weeks, eventually reaching nearly 25,000 respondents. The company said the resulting feature achieved 50% weekly retention among more than 300,000 members.
“When you’re running a study at this scale, it’s not just about the sample size. It’s about managing complexity without sacrificing the science. SurveyMonkey allowed us to do both,” said Myles Johnson, a product manager at Noom.
The updates begin rolling out across SurveyMonkey plans in September 2026.
The SurveyMonkey research cited was conducted July 16–30, 2026, among 963 self-identified small business owners ages 18 and older, drawn from the more than 2 million people who take surveys on the SurveyMonkey platform daily. The modeled margin of error is plus or minus 3.0 percentage points. Data was weighted according to industry, employee count, geography, gender and race, based on the U.S. Census Bureau’s 2022 Annual Business Survey.
