Mendix and Snowflake Boost AI Innovation in Automotive

Mendix deepens its Snowflake partnership to power faster app development, secure data, and drive AI-led transformation in the automotive industry.

Mendix, a Siemens business, announced its continued commitment to collaborate with Snowflake, the AI Data Cloud company, to further enable the enterprise to drive value from data through modern software development.

Since the start of Mendix’s collaboration with Snowflake, joint customers have seen the following impact on their business:

  • Decreasing time to value: One industrial manufacturer used Snowflake’s data tools alongside Mendix to build and deploy applications in as quickly as 16 weeks.
  • Modernizing legacy tech stack: Another industrial manufacturer replaced its outdated systems with a modern portfolio, building and rolling out its first new applications in just four months.
  • Enabling collaboration across teams traditionally working in silos: A large oil and gas customer built 100+ Mendix applications, 75% of which are connected to Snowflake. The integrated tools enabled data engineers to support software development efforts alongside in-house developers and business end users.
  • Securing the manufacturing shopfloor: An aerospace manufacturer combined the joint capabilities of Mendix and Snowflake to keep its data secure and improve shopfloor efficiency. Snowflake’s AI Data Cloud dynamic data masking can restrict and protect sensitive data, while the Mendix platform offers robust built-in guardrails to control every aspect of the application development lifecycle.
  • Creating a single pane of glass: A transport authority used Mendix to build 10+ applications to gather data from various sources and feed it into Snowflake for analysis. This allowed the organization to gain visibility into its data, as well as extract insights to improve processes and decision-making.

Siemens Energy offers another example of how organizations can benefit from combining software development with the right data. Since 2018, the company has deployed over 200 applications using Mendix, with nearly all factory-related projects connected to Snowflake.

“Snowflake is our data brain,” Franz Klammler, R&D Engineer & Low Code Lead at Siemens Energy. “Everything you need is in Snowflake, and of course, an app without data is good for nothing. Having both platforms work together has been helpful, as we can bring together several use cases into one application in Mendix. It makes the architecture clearer, and you only have to sync once to Snowflake.”

To further increase value for joint customers, Mendix became a Snowflake Data Cloud Product partner in its Automotive Solutions launch in May 2025.

Snowflake’s Automotive Solutions offer customers a faster and more efficient development cycle, a scalable platform, real-time visibility into the supply chain across suppliers, inventory systems, and logistics partners, and advanced analytics with AI/ML capabilities. The underlying Mendix technical components are flexible, so Mendix can be easily accessed when Snowflake introduces new models or capabilities. This will make Snowflake AI available to more users, taking into account the unique demands of the automotive industry, and bridging the AI ‘proof-of-concept to production’ gap.

“Snowflake customers are looking to go beyond traditional analytics, and our collaboration with Mendix allows them to quickly create intelligent and actionable enterprise applications using Snowflake’s Cortex AI,” said Tim Long, Global Head of Manufacturing at Snowflake. “We look forward to seeing the business value our customers will achieve through this seamless integration.”

With a growing number of businesses recognizing the importance of centralizing their data, Mendix and Snowflake continue to offer customers a holistic solution. The partnership prevents AI silos so that when enterprises embark on digital initiatives and adopt multiple platforms, they retain overarching governance and control over their data.
